Mavs Upgrade Kyrie Irving's Injury Status Ahead of New Year's Day Matchup vs. Jazz
The Dallas Mavericks head into 2024 with a 19-14 record, and star point guard Kyrie Irving could be ringing in the new year by making his much-anticipated return from injury on Monday when his team takes on the Utah Jazz on New Year's Day.
On the latest official injury report submitted to the NBA by the Mavs, Irving was upgraded from being "doubtful" for Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors to "questionable" for Monday's game against the Jazz.
For an injury-riddled team that broke even with an 8-8 record in December despite Luka Doncic putting up historic numbers we haven't seen in over 60 years, seeing Irving upgraded on the injury report is a sight for sore eyes. Irving, who suffered a heel contusion in Dallas' game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 8, has missed 12 consecutive games.

Even if Irving plays, though, there are other key names on the Mavs' injury report, as Doncic, Dante Exum and Seth Curry are also listed as being "questionable" to play in Utah. Stay tuned to DallasBasketball.com as more injury updates come on Monday.
