Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James notched his 107th career triple-double yesterday, tying Dallas Mavericks legend Jason Kidd all-time and entering rarified air.

Dallas Mavericks legend and current head coach Jason Kidd no longer stands alone at No. 4 on the NBA career triple-doubles list as Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James tied him in L.A.'s 25-point victory over the Houston Rockets yesterday.

The Lakers commemorated their All-Star on Twitter, marking yet another career achievement of 2023:

James, 38, had 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists on Sunday. He now has 107 triple-doubles in his 20-year tenure. It has taken James 1,417 games to reach the milestone.

Comparatively, Kidd's final triple-double came in the 2011 championship season of his second stint with Dallas. He put up 13 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists in an eight-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Mar. 1, 2011.

It took Kidd 1,245 games to cement himself at his current positioning, exceeding James by 172 games played.

Nevertheless, the achievement only adds to a growing list of statistical accomplishments for James. Earlier this season, he broke the all-time career scoring record previously held by Hall-of-Famer Kareem Abdul Jabbar on Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He also leapfrogged fellow Mavericks legend Steve Nash and New York Knicks great Mark Jackson to take hold of No. 4 on the all-time career assists leaderboard against the Knicks on Jan. 31.

James has made it clear on his intentions to play well past his year-20 season, particularly yearning to play with his son Bronny James upon his anticipated entry into the league. Therefore, Kidd's days as James' equal in the triple-doubles category are numbered.
