Dallas Mavs' Luka Doncic Tied Dirk Nowitzki Record with West Player of the Week Honor

DALLAS —  Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 25 through Sunday, March 31. He led the Mavs to a 4-0 record during this span, averaging 32.5 points,11.0 rebounds, 9.5 assists, and 1.8 steals in 37.3 minutes per game.

Doncic has earned the Player of the Week honor for the fourth time this season, increasing his total to 13 in his career. He has now tied Dirk Nowitzki for the most in a single season in Mavs history.

The first performance of Doncic's week involved recording 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists against the Utah Jazz in a 115-105 victory on March 25.

The Mavs swept the Sacramento Kings in a pivotal two-game mini-series, with Doncic being a significant contributor. Doncic recorded 28 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in a 132-96 win in the first matchup. He followed it up with 26 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds in a 107-103 victory.

Ending the week, Doncic recorded 47 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals to guide the Mavs to a 125-107 defeat of the Houston Rockets. It featured an incredible start for the Slovenia superstar, recording 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the first quarter alone

Doncic has averaged 34.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 65 games and is closing in on making significant history. He leads the NBA in scoring and is second in assists per game. He would become the first player in NBA history to average 33.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists in a season.
