Clippers' Paul George: Mavs' Luka Doncic Could Be 'One of the Greatest' Players Ever
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is seen as one of the faces and best players in the NBA – and rightfully so. Not many players, if any, can replicate the kind of production that Doncic cranks out for Dallas on a night-to-night basis.
On Monday's episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the Clippers All-Star discussed Doncic's current standing amongst the best players in the league and the potential that he holds going forward.
"S***, Luka's the GOAT," George said. "Luka's not next up -- Luka is now. Like, Luka is for real now."
George would know firsthand, as he and the Los Angeles Clippers have had their fair share of matchups against Doncic, including two grueling playoff series' in 2019 and 2020, where despite putting himself on the map as one of the best players in the league, Doncic and the Mavs fell short in both years.
"He passed that 'next up' after his first season," George said. "Like, you knew Luka's gonna be that guy, and he's that guy now."
George mentioned Doncic having the opportunity to become the greatest international player of all time, passing the likes of Hall of Famer's Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Hakeem Olajuwon, and potentially even Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo and Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic.
"He's got a chance to be the biggest International guy," George said. "He's got a chance to be one of the best to ever do it."
That's huge praise coming not just one of your peers, but a fellow All-Star himself in George who has been on the opposite end of many buckets from Doncic over the years.
