Mavs' Luka Doncic Announces FIBA World Cup Docuseries
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic will be on your television or mobile screens very, very soon … and it won’t just be for normal viewing for games.
No, we're not talking about the upcoming 2023-24 regular season for the Mavs, nor Doncic and the Slovenia National team playing in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which kicks off this coming weekend: we're talking about Doncic's docuseries.
On Monday, Doncic announced via Variety that he's working on a self-produced docuseries titled "Everything It Takes" that will follow him and the 2023 Slovenia National team's path through the FIBA World Cup.
"I am proud to share the story of my national team, especially my teammates, and to shine a light on Slovenian basketball and what it means to me," Doncic told Variety. "It's more than just what we do on the court. It's about the brotherhood, the heart of our team, the passion of our fans and the love for our country."
Doncic's production company, 77X, will produce the documentary as its first project along with partnering with the Basketball Federation of Slovenia and Slovenian production company, Entity Films.
The series will be released in real time on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram as Doncic and Slovenia play their way through the World Cup, starting in their first game on Saturday against Venezuela.
"Luka has always been a trailblazer, both on and off the court. Platforms like TikTok have been gaining significant ground on streaming services, so it made perfect sense for Luka to launch this project where his audience is," 77X CEO and Doncic's business manager, Lara Beth Seager told Variety.
Stay tuned for the first episode of "Everything It Takes" across your social media platforms.
