Mark Cuban for President? Mavs Owner Reveals Family-First Decision

“No,'' Mavs owner Mark Cuban responds to questions about running for president, using essentially the same verbiage he's often used with DallasBasketball.com. "My family would disown me.''
In this story:

DALLAS - Mark Cuban has visited with DallasBasketball.com over the years regarding the idea of running for President of the United States, and the conversation inevitably turns to concerns for the negative effects such a move might have on his family.

And that is what the billionaire businessman and owner of the Dallas Mavericks is saying again now after NBC News asked Cuban about any ambitions he harbors to run for president in 2024, especially now that a group called No Labels is pushing for a bipartisan and third-party presidential ticket on next year’s ballot.

“No,'' Cuban responded to NBC, using essentially the same verbiage he's often used with us. "My family would disown me.''

Cuban has flirted with the idea at times, certainly in a high-profile way when he jousted publicly with Donald Trump. On Thursday he confirmed to NBC that he has visited with No Labels. At the same time, the group’s founder, Nancy Jacobson, indicates to NBC News that the group - which will hold a convention in Dallas with the plan to pick a Democrat and a Republican to run together - is not "spend(ing) a lot of time'' on candidates at this stage.

Cuban did tell NBC that he is a supporter of No Labels' push, writing in an email, “I like that they are trying a new path. I think the two-party system is broken.”
