Mavs exercise options on young core members Luka Doncic and Justin Jackson
DALLAS - There are no surprises here, just some satisfaction in what the Dallas Mavericks are building with their young core. But the Mavs reportedly have exercised the third-year option for Luka Doncic and the fourth-year option for Justin Jackson.

Doncic, 20, will have a cap hit of $8,049,360 in that 2020-21 season, is of course the NBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year winner and the player Dallas believes will be the foundation piece of a championship contender going forward. Luka averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and six assists per game as a rookie.
Jackson, 24, is projected to possibly be a starting forward for this year's Mavs after experiencing a relatively successful stretch for Dallas to finish the 2018-19 season after coming over from Sacramento in the Harrison Barnes trade In 29 games for Dallas, Jackson averaged points per game. His fourth-year option in ’20-21 will have a cap charge of $5,029,650.
