Mavs' Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving Headline Injury Report vs. Thunder; Will P.J. Washington, Daniel Gafford Play?
DALLAS — After sweeping a three-game road trip that ended with a 122-108 victory over the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks have an early afternoon game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.
The Mavs submitted an injury report on Friday that lists Luka Doncic (broken nose) and Kyrie Irving (right thumb sprain) as probable to play. Maxi Kleber (right small toe dislocation) is questionable, while Dereck Lively II (nasal fracture) and Dante Exum (right knee bursitis) are both already ruled out.
Recent trade acquisitions P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford were not listed on the injury report — a positive sign for their potential availability for Saturday's game. However, to be technical, being available doesn't mean playing.
When discussing the Mavs new trade additions, coach Jason Kidd stated on Friday that it was unclear if Washington or Gafford would be available to play in Saturday's game, but regardless, there's a chance Washington could come off the bench initially as he gets acclimated to the team.
"He could be a starter. He can come off the bench, but yes, I could see him starting at some point," Kidd said. "I don't know if that's going to be Saturday afternoon, but again, with the schedule, we get home tomorrow afternoon. It's a quick one that we start at 2:00. So, not a lot of time to put a lot of things in, so we'll try to keep it simple for those guys if they can play on Saturday."

Lively being ruled out is no surprise, as Kidd mentioned it would be unlikely for him to play when discussing his injury before Thursday's game. An exact timetable for his return or Dante Exum's has yet to be communicated.
The Thunder acquired Gordon Hayward in a trade before the deadline, but he will not be available to play until after the All-Star break. He has already been ruled out against the Mavs, as he has a left calf strain.
