Odom has certainly "lived a life''; he's struggled with drug and alcohol addictions and in October 2015 was hospitalized after being found unconscious due to cocaine at a brothel, having suffered kidney failure, several heart attacks, and 12 strokes. Odom was comatose and was placed on life support before regaining consciousness.
And of course, he briefly married Khloe Kardashian, which raised his profile well beyond basketball, as is now happening with Kelce.
