NBA trade rumors and speculation are heating up, and the Dallas Mavericks have already been linked to several players as they pursue a frontcourt upgrade.

One of the players the Mavs have registered interest in is Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, who is a two-time All-Star and NBA champion. Under normal circumstances, Dallas might not have the trade ammo to pull off such a deal, but the 29-year-old versatile wing is set to be an unrestricted free agent in six months, meaning he could essentially leave the Raptors with them getting nothing in return.

According to Bodog.eu, the Mavs are the favorites to land Siakam in a trade if the Raptors decide to move on from him before the deadline. Dallas has the top odds at +150, followed by the Memphis Grizzlies at +250 and the Indiana Pacers at +450.

Siakam would be a seamless fit next to the star backcourt duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, as well as rookie big man Dereck Lively II in the frontcourt. Through 36 games this season, Siakam is averaging 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 52.3 percent overall and 29.7 percent from deep.

How Pascal Siakam's Trade Market Impacts Mavs' Ability to Make Midseason Upgrade

According to a report from Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Richaun Holmes are the two players the Mavs are shopping the most as trade calls continue to take place. One would have to think that there would been some draft compensation involved if Hardaway and Holmes end up being the salary filler for a Siakam trade.

Mavs GM Nico Harrison has proven that he’s not shy when it comes to making trades. He’s pulled off big deals in each of the previous two seasons, and it wouldn’t be a shock to us if he did so again this time around as Dallas tried to solidify its standing as a title contender in the Western Conference.
