As far as versatile forwards go, Washington Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma fits the description of what the Dallas Mavericks are looking for ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

In 46 games, Kuzma is averaging 21.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 45.6 percent overall and 32.9 percent from deep. Although his 3-point shooting isn’t where he’d like it to be, there’s a good chance that percentage would go up while playing next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in Dallas — just ask Spencer Dinwiddie, who is a 33.2-percent career 3-point shooter, but shot 40.4 percent from deep during his Dallas stint.

According to Gambling.com, the Mavs have the top odds to land Kuzma in a trade if he doesn’t remain with the Wizards. Washington has the top odds (-200) to retain Kuzma, likely due to a high asking price, but the Mavs are the first team after the Wizards with +250 odds. The Sacramento Kings are next in line at +500 odds, and the San Antonio Spurs are behind them at +1000 odds.

Trade Odds: Mavs, Heat Top Destinations for Nets’ Dorian Finney-Smith

The Wizards are reportedly asking for at least two first-round picks or the equivalent of that in order to consider trading Kuzma, which might be too high for the Mavs. However, the Mavs could trade their 2027 first-round pick, which could hold some extra value considering the uncertainty surrounding Doncic’s potential 2026 free agency.
