The Brooklyn Nets face another challenging contest as they meet the Boston Celtics for the second time in a week, marking the only team that has defeated them by double digits.

Compounding the challenge, the Nets grapple with injuries, with standout player Cameron Thomas now joining the sidelined players.

What to expect from the Celtics

During the clash between the Nets and Celtics, the latter emerged victorious with a 124-114 scoreline. Boston secured a robust win, fueled by the offensive dominance of their starting lineup. Jayson Tatum shone as the star player, contributing 32 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 23 points, and Kristaps Porzingis chipped in with 22.

Expect the Celtics to be even more aggressive as they come off two consecutive losses. While this marks the most vulnerable phase for the Celtics in the 2023/24 season, they are likely to seek redemption in the upcoming match against a Brooklyn Nets team facing even greater vulnerability due to injuries.

Of course, Brooklyn won’t go down without a fight as they still have Mikal Bridges to lead the way. He will have a tougher time as the defense will be locked in on him but the rest of the team has to step up in the injured players’ absence.

Injury report

For the Nets, there is a litany of injuries to go through with the most prominent one being Cam Thomas. He suffered an ankle injury and after the game against the Clippers and he was seen in the locker room in a movement scooter.

Nic Claxton remains out but Cameron Johnson has been upgraded to probable for the Celtics game. Ben Simmons is questionable with the hip issue that took him out of the Clippers game

This will mean Dorian Finney-Smith will continue to be the small-ball center. However, Day’Ron Sharpe did show some flashes of brilliance in the Clippers game when he got a double-double off the bench.

On the other side, the Celtics don’t have issues besides Neemias Queta who remains sidelined with a foot injury.
