The Nets' recent games have seen significant improvement in shooting accuracy and a notable upswing in their defensive capabilities, setting the stage for a challenging test against the formidable Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors’ size will be an issue for the Nets

With both Nic Claxton and Cameron Johnson dealing with injuries, the Nets’ depth in the frontcourt is a big problem. Toronto's key players predominantly stand at 6'8" or taller, employing a physical style of play, exemplified by Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes who utilize a "bully-ball" approach.

While the Nets boast quality players like Dorian Finney-Smith who can contend with the Raptors, the potential absence of Claxton in the game raises concerns about the team's rim protection.

The Nets face challenges on the offensive end as well, given the Raptors' formidable defensive lineup. While Jakob Poeltl provides reliable rim protection, the primary defensive matchup for Mikal Bridges will be OG Anunoby, known for his size and wingspan, signaling a potentially challenging night for Mikal.

Spencer Dinwiddie vs Dennis Schroeder will be a matchup to watch as they are both superb offensive players and have been playing with good momentum as of late.

Injury report

The Nets come into the game against the Raptors with an extensive injury report. Ben Simmons and Dennis Smith Jr. remain sidelined with their respective back injuries. Cameron Thomas has been upgraded to doubtful, suggesting that while it remains improbable, there are indications of his impending return.

Both Nic Claxton and Cameron Johnson are currently contending with injuries that could potentially sideline them for the upcoming game. If they don’t play, the Nets will likely insert Royce O’Neale and Trendon Watford into the starting lineup.

For the Raptors, they are only dealing with two injuries to Christian Koloko who’s dealing with an illness, and two-way contract player Markquis Nowell who’s deemed as day-to-day.
