Brooklyn Nets Make Yet Another Roster Move

As the final weeks of the season unfold, the Brooklyn Nets find themselves on the cusp of the Play-In Tournament, sitting two-and-a-half games behind the Chicago Bulls in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. Given the importance of each of their remaining games, the Nets have decided to make some moves to their roster, which could be seen as early as last week when Killian Hayes, who was given a 10-day contract with Brooklyn, was not picked up for another deal.
This decision came despite the Frenchman averaging nine points on 41 percent from the field, while also dishing out five assists per game to his teammates. The decision could ultimately have come down to the Nets' squad depth in the backcourt, with D'Angelo Russell making his return to the court against the Spurs on Tuesday night.
Hayes wasn't the only player that Brooklyn parted ways in the past few days, as according to Clutch Points' Erik Slater, the Nets waived Kendall Brown on Tuesday afternoon, ending his short stint with the organization which started in late February.
This wouldn't be the only move the Nets would make on Tuesday, as Slater also reported that the Nets were signing Tyson Etienne to a two-way deal, taking the spot that was left by Brown.
The Brooklyn Nets have signed guard Tyson Etienne to a two-way contract, per team.

Etienne, an Englewood, NJ native, has averaged 16.9 points and 3.7 assists per game on 46/42/78 shooting splits with Long Island this season.
Etienne has yet to make an NBA appearance in his career, having gone undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, which was before he was picked up by the Atlanta Hawks for their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks. Following his tenure with the Skyhawks, Etienne would make his way to the Nets in September 2024, signing an Exhibition 10 contract with the organization, which was followed a day after by him getting waived.
However, his time with Brooklyn as an organization wouldn't come to an end, as he would spend the season with the Long Island Nets, proving to be quite effective, averaging 16 points and three assists. Etienne will practically fill the spot left by the aforementioned Hayes, with both players being members of the back court, which also means he'll be far down the pecking order for Jordi Fernandez to use.
It wouldn't be a shock to see the Nets keep Etienne with Long Island as they find themselves in a race for one of the final spots in the Eastern Conference ahead of the playoffs, which are set to start in early April.
