After a five-game losing streak, the Brooklyn Nets finally won a game by beating the Detroit Pistons 126 to 115. This was a monumental win for Jacque Vaughn's squad because they were falling in the standings with constant losses over the past couple of weeks.

Cameron Johnson and his fellow players expressed their joy over Brooklyn's victory, viewing it as a pivotal moment in their season. The 6'8" wing is pleased with the Nets' return to the win column, believing it sets a robust foundation for their future success.

"We know what we're capable of at the end of the day; we let a couple slip away. That's the name of the game, man. Resilience," Johnson said in his post-game press conference. "Just being able to bounce back and find a way each and every game. It takes one (win) to start a winning streak."

The Nets look much more confident

During the rough patch, Brooklyn looked lethargic as their energy was down, but only a few players performed up to par. Cameron Thomas broke out again as a star scorer during that stretch and now he's a reliable go-to guy. Even Johnson heated up during the tail-end of the streak as he was criticized for shooting inefficiently.

Now, the rest of the team has followed in their footsteps as Mikal Bridges is finally back to his best self. He scored 29 points in this game, which helped the rest of the squad become more confident since their star was hitting shots.

Johnson was a big part of that as he shot 6-for-10 from the field. It was an efficient game for the University of North Carolina product as he continued his solid stretch of games dating back to their road trip.

Brooklyn can end the year strong

The Nets still have four games left for 2023 and there is a mix of tough and possibly easier games. They have the Pistons again up next on December 26 which will be played in the Motor City. With the confidence they're building, Brooklyn looks poised to end the year strong, which they need to head into a massive 2024 for the organization.

The fans are hoping Johnson's words ring true because if they go on a winning streak, they have a strong chance of making it back to the NBA Playoffs by April. It will be a tough road ahead, but the team is ready for the challenge.
