Former Nets CEO Brett Yormark joins twin brother at Roc Nation as Co-CEO

Nets marketing man lands another gig.

That didn't take long. Barely two weeks after being replaced Nets CEO by former Turner executive David Levy, Brett Yormark looked to a familiar face to keep him in a prominent position in the sports industry. 

Yormark's twin brother Michael helped orchestrate his move to Roc Nation as the agency represents Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Kyrie Irving and was the former agency for Kevin Durant. 

It will be fascinating to see how much, if any, this has an impact on how the Nets do business with the agency in the future. 

Yormark was given marching orders by former Nets owner Bruce Ratner to extinguish the NETS brand name and push the Brooklyn name to coincide with the team's move from New Jersey. 

Ratner used the organization as a pawn as a part of completing his Atlantic Yards project, which many Brooklyn residents protested back in 2012. Ratner used imminent domain to force residents to vacate where the footprint of Barclays and Atlantic Yards would touch. 

Yormark was viewed as a brilliant marketing mind when he was with the team during its transition from the Garden State to Brooklyn, a move which was met with moderate success the last seven years. Things do look promising in the borough with the franchise attracting two premier stars in Irving and Durant. 

While Yormark will move on to the agency side of the business, he'll always been remembered as having one foot in the door and out when the team was still in New Jersey; focusing more on the future plans of the team than paying homage to its roots and past history.
