Injury Report: Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets
The NBA world will be focused on the final hours before the NBA Trade Deadline strikes but there is basketball to be played later that night.
In a matchup between two teams that are expected to go different ways with the deadline approaching, both teams will be missing key players for their matchup at Barclays Center on Thursday night.
The Nets will have Ben Simmons available vs. the Bulls on Thursday night. The point forward twisted his ankle in Tuesday night's loss to the Suns but is expected to play his scheduled minute load.
Outside of Simmons, Brooklyn will have their newest players Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith available to make their team debuts. Head coach Jacque Vaughn gave both players acquired in the blockbuster Kyrie Irving trade the night off on Tuesday because of the traveling and additional protocols they had to go through after the trade became official.
The team has listed second-year big Day'Ron Sharpe (right foot soreness) and wing Yuta Watanabe (back tightness) as questionable ahead of Thursday's contest. The Nets underwent a precautionary MRI on Watanabe's back soreness on Wednesday. It is unclear what the results of the MRI were shown at the time of this writing.
Brooklyn will be without Seth Curry (right adductor strain) vs. the Bulls. The guard will be missing his third straight game with the injury. The Nets' cornerstone, Kevin Durant remains out as well.
For the Bulls, the team has listed DeMar DeRozan (right hip soreness) as questionable for the game. In addition, the Bulls will have guard Alex Caruso (left midfoot soreness) and big man Patrick Williams (right ankle sprain) probable to play vs. the Nets.
Chicago will be without Lonzo Ball (left knee surgery), Javonte Green (right knee surgery), Malcolm Hill (G League - Two-Way), Carlik Jones (G League - Two-Way), and Marko Simonovic (G League - On Assignment) for Thursday's game at Barclays Center.
