Injury Report: Kevin Durant Not Cleared for Contact
The Phoenix Suns pulled off the heist of the century when they managed to acquire Kevin Durant for last draft picks for than what the Utah Jazz got for Rudy Gobert. Fortunately, for the rest of the league, Kevin Durant still isn't ready to play yet from his MCL sprain.
According to a report from Nick Friedell when he was on NBA Today, Kevin Durant has not been cleared for 5-on-5 or 3-on-3 contact.
"The Phoenix Suns franchise is letting him decide when to return, whenever he feels ready," Friedell said.
Even without Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns still have Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton. With those three key components, the Phoenix Suns will always have a chance against any team in the NBA. The team has won the last two games straight and won 7 of the last 10 games. Tonight, they face the LA Clippers in a game with tremendous playoff implications.
If the Phoenix Suns lose to the Clippers, they'll drop to the 5th seed and be within only one game out of the play-in tournament. It's cliche to say, but pretty much every game from here on out is a must-win for every team in the western conference, except for the Denver Nuggets.
For now, Kevin Durant is still sidelined, but when he does return, the entire NBA needs to watch out. Fortunately for the Brooklyn Nets, the future is still bright with the rising star of Mikal Bridges.
