When the Phoenix Suns acquired Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, they knew he would be sidelined for at least a few more weeks. Durant sustained an MCL sprain in what ended up being his last game with the Nets, and has been rehabbing the injury ever since.

Durant has been making good progress towards a return from injury, recently saying, "I don't know. My knee feels solid, though. I've got a couple more days before games and stuff, so I'm just going to try to figure it out with the training staff and see what the best option is."

Those days have now come and gone, with the Phoenix Suns set to face the OKC Thunder on Friday night in their first game back from the All-Star break. The team has released their official injury report, and Durant has been ruled out.

Recent reporting has indicated a potential return next week for Durant, but there has been no official update from the team on when exactly that return will be. For now, Durant remains on the sidelines.

The good news for the Suns, is that they still have Chris Paul and Devin Booker to lead the charge while Durant works his way back. It should not be much longer before the superstar forward can join the mix and help Phoenix make a title push.
