Kevin Durant's Potential Return Date From Injury Revealed
The NBA hardwood has missed Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant. The 13-time NBA All-Star, who has been out with an MCL sprain in his right knee since Jan. 8, is expected to return next week.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, there is an expectation that Durant will return against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. If he doesn't make his return then, it'll likely come next week when the Suns play the Charlotte Hornets.
Windhorst reported that Durant is expected to undergo a five-on-five live-contact workout on Thursday before making an official decision on his return date.
"Friday's game against the Thunder, I'm not sure that's when we're going to see Durant make his Suns debut. He hasn't played in six weeks and I know he said over the weekend in Salt Lake City at the All-Star festivities that his knee is feeling good. There is a desire for Durant to get a five-on-five live-contact workout tomorrow in Phoenix, and then see how his knee reacts to that before proceeding to be activated.
"Neither Durant nor the Suns are ruling out Friday's game but within Durant's camp and within the team, there's an expectation that Sunday's game in Milwaukee [vs. Bucks] or next week they play in Charlotte as part of a long road trip could be more likely than against the Thunder."
Durant, who has been focusing on his right knee rehab, has been practicing with the Suns. Phoenix went into the All-Star break as the fifth seed in the Western Conference, holding a 32-28 overall record.
The newest Suns superstar comes to Phoenix averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks this season.
