The Brooklyn Nets have traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks in a move that Irving is reportedly "ecstatic" about. In a report from NBA insider Chris Haynes, it was revealed that "Kyrie Irving is said to be 'ecstatic' about the trade to Dallas Mavericks and 'looking forward' to joining forces with Luka Doncic."

Getting his trade request granted, while also heading to a Western Conference playoff team, Irving is seemingly excited about this new opportunity. The backcourt of he and Luka Doncic have the potential to be one of the NBA's most dominant offensive pairings, and will look to make a run in the Western Conference.

Irving has requested out of every team he has played on, facilitating his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and now the Brooklyn Nets. This unpredictability made many teams hesitant to deal for the All-Star point guard, but in the end it was the Mavericks who felt comfortable enough going all-in on a deal for Irving.

Getting approval from Luka Doncic to make the deal, the Mavericks felt this was their best opportunity to pair a legitimate star next to their MVP candidate. The team has failed to do that up until this point, and will now hope that things work out with Kyrie Irving. The pairing should be a lot of fun between the two star guards.
