Mikhail Prokhorov writes open letter to Nets fans to bid farewell as team governor

Dear Nets fans,
As the chapter closes on my time as Nets governor, I just wanted to say thank you all for your support and your unending belief in the team. It’s truly been an honor to be involved with the NBA. More than that, it’s been a delightful experience. I’ve had the chance to meet many of you over these last 9 years and have always been struck by your knowledge about and devotion to the team. As an outsider from a faraway country you’ve made me feel truly welcome. And, at a time when the world is a little bit upside down, this experience has shown me and many others that we can work together to build something and, more importantly, be a team of friends.

“Although I am not a part of the team anymore, I still remain its devoted fan and will do my best trying to visit its matches. I hope to see US winning in the playoffs. I am sure it will happen very soon”, - stated Prokhorov. pic.twitter.com/5VebSNISdD
It has not been an easy road, but I hope that you will agree our journey together has been full of twists and turns and kind of fun. I’m glad to say the team has never been in better shape during my tenure than it is now. So it’s the right time to pass the torch to Joe Tsai, who I’m sure will be fantastic as the new governor of the team. I will be there all along the way cheering for the Nets and plan to visit in November for that very purpose.
So I’m wishing each of you health and happiness until we meet again!
With fond regards and deepest gratitude,
Mikhail
