This 2023-24 year has been generally disastrous for the Brooklyn Nets. From the injuries, inconsistencies, head coaching firing, and critical losses of their front office units, the Nets have endured zigzagging progress throughout the season and are now running on fumes just to reach the finish line this mid-April.

Though their season hasn't reached the endpoint yet, there is now significant regard for how the Nets will likely conclude their basketball year, considering their 26-42 record and shaky status as a Play-In hopeful.

Latest win-loss prediction for the Nets

In Bleacher Report’s latest Win-Loss predictions for every NBA team, Zach Buckley projected that the Nets will end up registering a 33-49 record at the end of this season. While there is a sigh of relief that can be taken from the fact that they have one of the easiest schedules left throughout the entire league, Buckley remains skeptical about their capabilities to compete toward contention.

“But a favorable schedule only means so much for a team lacking high-end talent. Mikal Bridges is a really good player, and Cam Thomas is a really good scorer, but expecting greatness from either one is, at the very least, a long shot. A 7-10 finish, then, feels about right.”

No Play-In berth

In connection to this win-loss card projection, a separate B/R piece from Andy Bailey has ruled out the Nets amongst potential Play-In teams for the forthcoming 2024 NBA Playoffs.

As they are currently carrying an awful 3.7% chance to make it to the postseason based on the Basketball Reference’s Playoff Probabilities Report, Brooklyn didn't make it to the cut over other teams boasting a higher percentage.
