After a long losing streak, the Nets finally bounced back and got a positive result with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies. It was an emphatic victory for the Nets, which could be the momentum-builder on the path to making the Play-In Tournament.

The Nets had an energetic performance, which interim head coach Kevin Ollie loved to see. Starting center Nic Claxton was happy with how the team played as they blew out the Grizzlies 111 to 86. Claxton had a solid performance of 10 points on a perfect 5/5 shooting and three blocks.

“Our energy and tonight, we made shots. The last couple of games, we haven’t really made shots, we got good looks, we made shots and got stops,” Nic said in his post-game interview on the Nets broadcast.

“Knowing the scouting report, making it as tough as I could for him. I knew he (Jaren Jackson Jr.) was going to get out and be aggressive; they’re missing a lot of guys. I was able to get a lot of stops and affect the game.”

Nic’s efficiency on offense makes him reliable

Nic is not a superstar on offense but always finds a way to produce. In the game against Memphis, he did not miss a shot because he knew how to pick his spots. He was there for lob opportunities and put-backs, which made him a reliable paint presence. The former Georgia Bulldog even hit a buzzer-beating floater, which showcased his touch around the rim.

With his growth as an offensive player, Clax is showing why he deserves a big contract, especially if he keeps this up and helps the Nets make it into the postseason.

The Nets are meeting the new standard

With Coach Ollie in charge, the Nets are playing with more energy. Claxton is one of the team’s cornerstones, and he sets the tone on defense with his emphatic blocks and how he could switch onto smaller players.

Moving forward, Brooklyn will continue on their quest to make the Playoffs, and with how they played against Memphis, they have a chance to reach that pinnacle.
