Report: Kyrie Irving Likely Staying With Dallas Mavericks, Not Moving to Lakers
This whole season, it's felt like Kyrie Irving's ultimate goal has been the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, it seems like he may have found a new one with the Dallas Mavericks. According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski, Kyrie Irving will most likely stay with the Dallas Mavericks after this season.
"I think it's more likely than not Kyrie Irving stays in Dallas," said Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN. "Just because of what they invested in him. And his chance to get the kind of contract he wants... I think given of what they gave up and Dallas' track record of being willing to pay players who want to be there. I think it's more likely than not Kyrie Irving is in Dallas. Of course, it can all change."
Wojnarowski also added that he believes the Lakers traded Russell Westbrook with the idea that they'll go forward with him on a new deal.
If there is one person who can not be predicted in the NBA, it's Kyrie Irving. He's jumped from the Cleveland Cavaliers, to the Boston Celtics, to the Brooklyn Nets, all while claiming he wants to be at these places long-term, only to be with them for the short term. The moment things go sour with the Dallas Mavericks in any capacity, all eyes will be on him again.
