Starting off at a slow pace, the Brooklyn Nets faced an uphill battle throughout the game. Despite putting up a strong fight, their comeback efforts fell short against the Golden State Warriors, largely due to the unstoppable performance of superstar Stephen Curry, who showcased his mastery with 37 points.

Cameron Thomas was a bright spot for Brooklyn, scoring 41 points on good efficiency.

Aside from Cam, there were some standout games with double-doubles from Nic Claxton, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Spencer Dinwiddie had 16 points and 14 assists. Their effort wasn't enough as they lost in a close 120-124 result.

"The 11 offensive rebounds in the first half, those had nothing to do with Steph. So those are the physical battles you have to win on the road," Jacque Vaughn said after the game. "So I lean to those things, and I'm more hopeful that if we could get that part done, those shots would not have much significance."

Cam Thomas' performance was for naught

Thomas had a fantastic performance in this game as he had his first 40+ point performance since returning from injury. After a few rough games from the LSU product, this was a return to form.

In the first half, the 22-year-old shone brightly for the Nets, putting up an impressive 24 points on a stellar 8-for-11 shooting performance. He displayed his versatile scoring skills, excelling in jump shots from mid-range and beyond the arc and driving confidently into the paint.

"My rhythm is coming back. I'm getting to where I want to be," Thomas said in his post-game interview.

The tough road trip continues for the Nets

The West Coast trip has not been a good one for Brooklyn, as they have only won one out of their last four road games. The team had a real chance to win this game, especially since the Warriors were missing a key player like Draymond Green from their lineup.

A notable issue the Nets had in this game was their lack of bench production. They only had 13 points as vital scorers Lonnie Walker IV and Dorian Finney-Smith were both sidelined with injuries.

The Nets end their West Coast road trip with a game against the Utah Jazz on December 18. That is an opportunity for the Nets to end on a strong note, as the Jazz do not have All-Star Lauri Markkanen on the active squad.
