Vince Carter to make his Nets broadcast debut in the game against the Wizards
During his heyday, Vince Carter was a superb player for the then-New Jersey Nets.
He had a strong connection with the fan base during his playing days, and now, with the team's relocation and Vince's transition to broadcasting after retirement, it seemed fitting for him to become part of the Nets' coverage.
This was announced early into the 2023/24 season that "Air Canada" will commentate some of the games on YES Network. Today’s upcoming game against the Washington Wizards will be his first of the campaign and he will be live with legendary play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle.
Vince is just the latest addition to the Nets broadcast
The Nets broadcast is stacked with talent because the regular partnership is between Ian and Sarah Kustok as the analyst.
Additionally, ex-Nets player Richard Jefferson occasionally joins the broadcast. Another recent inclusion is Noah Eagle, Ian's son, who is capable of play-by-play commentary. He made his debut covering a game at Barclays Center on December 2.
This proves that the Nets are always boosting the quality of their broadcast. They not only have one of the best play-by-play guys with Ian but his son is also a rising talent who can fill in for him at times.
The Nets broadcast team is improving just like the real team
With Vince and Noah joining the broadcast team, this is the right time for them because the Nets are so fun to watch. Having them on the broadcast is another fresh addition to an exciting season. Fans will love to hear about Vince’s opinion on players like Mikal Bridges and Cameron Thomas who have some similarities to the former eight-time All-Star.
Vince won't be around for every broadcast, but it's going to be exciting to catch him chatting with his fellow commentators and connecting with the players. The Nets team must be thrilled to interact with him, considering his legendary status within the organization and the broader NBA, thanks to his incredible two-decade-long career.
