Denver Nuggets Coach Reveals Big Jamal Murray Injury Update
The Denver Nuggets have been without star point guard Jamal Murray for the last five games. Ankle issues have cost Murray several games this season, and he continues to remain sidelined for the time being. While the playoffs are right around the corner, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone gave an encouraging injury update on Murray when speaking with reporters recently, saying he should be back before the playoffs begin.
“I do think he will be back on the court before the playoffs start,” Malone told reporters, per The Denver Post. “I don’t think this is a nine-game injury where he doesn’t play for the rest of the season.”
The Nuggets certainly need Murray healthy if they are going to repeat as champions. One of the most clutch players in the league, Murray is built for the playoffs, and he has proven that several times in his career. Turning in one of the most impressive playoff runs by a guard in recent history last postseason, Murray reached heights that a lot of his peers have not reached. Denver will need more of this if they are going to defend their title.
Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world, and Murray is the perfect co-star. The two work great together, and will have the chance to compete for another championship once Murray returns.
