NBA Admits Missed Call in Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs
The Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs went down to the wire on Tuesday night, meaning the NBA has released a Last Two Minute Report for this game. According to the NBA, there was only one incorrect ruling in the final two minutes of this game, and it came when Victor Wembanyama was assessed a take foul against Nikola Jokic with 8.5 seconds remaining in the game.
According to the NBA, this should have been ruled a shooting foul, as the league stated, "Wembanyama (SAS) commits a take foul on Jokic (DEN). The illegal contact occurs during Jokic's shooting motion and should have been assessed as a shooting foul."
This was mostly inconsequential given the game's outcome, and it was the only incorrect ruling on the Last Two Minute Report. This was an exciting game between two teams at opposite ends of the Western Conference standings. While San Antonio is not playing for much at this point in the season, they are still trying to build good habits entering next year.
There have been several games like this for the Spurs this season, where they really challenged some of the better teams in the league. For Denver, they had to work for this win. Trying to secure the first seed in the Western Conference, the Nuggets know that every game is important, including games like this against bottom tier teams.
