The Denver Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round of last year's playoffs. While Minnesota didn't quite push Denver to the edge in that series, they put up quite a battle considering how easy it was for the Nuggets the rest of the way.

Anthony Edwards was one of the biggest reasons why Minnesota was able to compete with Denver at times in that series, and he's also one of the biggest reasons the Timberwolves currently sit atop the Western Conference. While Edwards has his team above Denver in the standings right now, he still believes Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world.

When asked during a recent interview with Complex if he sees himself as one of the best players in the world, Edwards said, "Yeah, for sure. Definitely Jokic is first, though. I gotta give Jokic his flowers. How he looked in that playoff run, he just dominated everybody. It started with us, and then it went to Phoenix, then he played the Lakers. He just went through everybody."

Edwards said it really hit him when he saw Jokic dominate Anthony Davis, since that's supposed to be one of the better options defensively on the Nuggets star. The consensus best in the world right now, Jokic has a lot of respect from other star players around the NBA.
