Denver Nuggets champion Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was honored by his hometown

Denver Nuggets champion Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was recently honored by his hometown of Greenville, Georgia. August 5th is now "KCP Day" in Greenville, and the Nuggets champion was there to celebrate the honor:

Caldwell-Pope is now a two-time NBA champion, having won with the Lakers in 2020, and with the Nuggets last season. A high-level role player, Caldwell-Pope was integral to both championship teams he was on, knocking down clutch shots while also taking on tough defensive assignments.

This Nuggets roster was constructed of several high-level complimentary pieces that in many ways have set a blueprint for what a championship team should look like. While so many teams are looking for multiple tier-one stars, the Nuggets built around Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray with championship-friendly players that perfectly fit next to their two stars.

While Jokic has rightfully received most of the recognition for his historically great postseason run, his teammates were with him the entire way, and all had signature moments throughout the postseason. Caldwell-Pope is certainly one of those players who made key shots in key moments, which is where his veteran and championship experience paid off.

Now honored with "KCP Day" in his hometown of Greenville, Georgia, Caldwell-Pope will always be recognized where he grew up. It is a much deserved honor for the two-time NBA champion who helped the Nuggets win their first title in franchise history.
