Tuesday night's matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers was a very high-scoring game. In fact, it was so high-scoring that it was historic.

At halftime, the score was tied 78 to 78 between the Nuggets and the 76ers. According to ESPN, it was actually the highest-scoring halftime in shot clock era history between two teams that were tied.

Despite the incredibly high-scoring first half, the second half wasn't anywhere near as offensively powered. The Nuggets scored 43 points in the second half and the 76ers scored 48 in the second half. The game was ultimately won by the Philadelphia 76ers 126-121.

Even though Tuesday night's game was just one of 82 for both the 76ers and Nuggets, it felt like a little bit more because of the matchup between the two MVPs. Strangely enough, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid have only had 8 head-to-head matchups together in the regular season. They've also never had a single playoff series against each other. There's absolutely no reason for a game between the Nuggets and 76ers to have extra juice to it, but it's mainly driven by fan hype to see a matchup between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

The Philadelphia 76ers were the better team on Tuesday night, but the Denver Nuggets are trying to be the better team in June. Hopefully, the two can finally meet in the playoffs this season.
