The Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers are set to face off on Saturday night in a battle of two very different Western Conference teams. The Nuggets enter this game in pursuit of the first seed in the Western Conference, while Portland is near the very bottom of the standings.

Both teams have released their injury reports for this game, and there are some big names listed. For the Nuggets, they are without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Vlatko Cancar, Zeke Nnaji, and Jalen Picket. For Portland, they are without Deandre Ayton, Malcolm Brogdon, Jerami Grant, Justin Minaya, Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, Matisse Thybulle, and Robert Williams III.

There is a lot of talent on the sidelines for these two teams, which will make for a very interesting matchup. As previously stated, Denver is playing for much more than Portland right now, but that does not mean they can overlook the Trail Blazers.

Games like this can be tough, because with so many key players out, opportunities are presented for players who do not usually get them. These players approach the game with an increased level of focus and effort to prove that they belong on the floor, which is why a shorthanded team can never be overlooked in the NBA. Both Denver and Portland will have to understand that dynamic entering this game.
