Draymond Green's Massive Statement on Nikola Jokic
Draymond Green has seen his fair share of battles with Nikola Jokic, whether it's been in the regular season or in the playoffs. However, Jokic today isn't the same player he was when Green faced him in the 2022 playoffs - Green experienced it firsthand on Sunday.
After the Nuggets defeated the Warriors on Sunday night, Draymond Green opened up on just how difficult his battle with the two-time MVP truly was. On Thursday night against Green, Jokic put up 32 points, 16 assists, 16 rebounds, and 4 steals on 54/33/100 shooting.
"I've had my fair share of good matchups against Joker, I've given him a little bit of hell on some nights, but he gave me total and complete hell tonight," Green said on The Draymond Green Show. "I had absolutely no answers. I'm just going to laugh about it, because either you laugh or you cry. I'm going to laugh about it, I had absolutely no answers tonight."
One attribute that Green couldn't believe was the sheer fact of Jokic's endurance. Nikola Jokic is in significantly better shape now than he ever was during the earlier years of his career, and Green felt that himself.
"He was brilliant," Green said. "He's in incredible shape, y'all should have saw this man run the floor. I had to turn on my burners a little bit a couple of times to keep up with him running the floor. He was just going, it wasn't like he got tired, he was just going and going. Man, shout out to Joker. It's always fun playing against him."
At one point, Nikola Jokic was being disrespected by peers and analysts. Now, everyone is willing to admit he's the best player in the league and arguably the most difficult matchup to face.
