Even though Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was a championship member of the Denver Nuggets, he still has a relationship with his championship Lakers teammates. Despite that, Caldwell-Pope still wanted to make sure he handled business against the Lakers.

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Pope opened up about facing the Lakers during the Western Conference Finals and his relationship with Anthony Davis. Caldwell-Pope actually still texts Anthony Davis and revealed that he texted him during the NBA Playoffs.

"Last year when it was the series before the Western Conference Finals, I had reached out to (Anthony Davis), and I had reached out to him," Caldwell-Pope said. "'Hey man, I've been watching y'all. Doing great man, keep it up.' He was like, 'can't wait to see y'all in the Western Conference Finals.'"

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope may be friends with Anthony Davis and the Lakers, but that didn't stop him from talking trash to his former teammates. Especially, after sweeping them in the Western Conference Finals.

"They're my brothers still but we (the Nuggets) had to give them that butt whoopin," Caldwell-Pope said." "It was personal, but it wasn't personal. We did something that hadn't been done in a long time as far as the Lakers getting swept. For us, making history, making The Finals for the first time."

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's redemption story in the NBA is one that should make any fan feel good. From airballing a game-winning shot on Kobe Bryant's jersey retirement night to winning two NBA Championships as a key player on both rosters.
