While the biggest news in the NBA on Wednesday was Damian Lillard heading from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks, the deal included other moving pieces that project to have significant impacts as well. One of these was former Denver Nuggets big man Jusuf Nurkic heading to the Phoenix Suns, where he will take over the starting center role previously held by Deandre Ayton.

Sharing a viral reaction to being deal, Nurkic sent out this Tweet following the trade:

Nurkic, who began his career in Denver, spent the last seven seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers. A solid starting center in the NBA, Nurkic will give Phoenix an interesting dynamic as a rebounder, scorer, and developing floor spacer.

Only taking 14 three point attempts in the first six seasons of his NBA career, Nurkic did not make a three pointer until his 7th NBA season when he went 3/29 from beyond the arc. Slowing increasing his attempts and makes from deep each season, Nurkic made a career-high 43 three pointers last season, converting at a 36.1% clip.

While teams will gladly invite Nurkic to shoot threes while on the floor with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, he showed a willingness and ability to make that shot at a decent clip last season which will be an interesting development to follow.
