While Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is far from the NBA’s most intense superstar, a story from his former teammate helped reveal just how loose he can keep things. Appearing on The Starting Five show, former Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas shared a hilarious story about Jokic playing a game on his phone during halftime.

"Basketball is his side job, he just happened to be good at it," Thomas said of Jokic. "That's just how talented he is... One time at halftime we in the locker room... my locker is right here, his is one over. I'm looking at what he's doing on his phone, he's playing some little kid game on his phone. That's how funny it is, because you never see a superstar player so nonchalant about the game. And it's not even in a bad way."

This laid back nature is something that Jokic has made work for him. Every player is different, and Jokic has clearly found an approach to basketball that’s helped bring out the best version of himself. Relaxed off the court - even if that’s in the locker room during halftime, Jokic knows how to flip a switch and dominate any game he plays.

Isaiah Thomas only spent 12 games with the Nuggets, but he was able to see how Jokic operates up close. Sharing this hilarious story, Thomas gave fans some insight into how the reigning Finals MVP goes about his business.
