It was announced on Friday morning by Marc Spears of Andscape that four-time NBA Champion and 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala has retired from the NBA. Iguodala played 19 years in the NBA, spending time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat.

A one-time All-Star, Iguodala was a star-level player in his prime, and evolved into an elite role player once joining the Warriors. In the article from Spears, Iguodala shared some thoughts, saying, "It’s just the right time. Time started to get limited for me and I didn’t want to put anything in the back seat. I didn’t want to have to try to delegate time anymore. Especially with on the court, off the court with family. A lot. You want to play at a high level. But then family is a lot. My son is 16 and then two girls. So, [I’m] looking forward to seeing them grow up in those important years."

Iguodala has a very unique career, because while his individual regular season accolades are limited to one All-Star appearance and two All-Defensive teams, he was integral to four championships, and won a Finals MVP for one of them. The longtime Warriors forward now feels it's time to step away, but he leaves behind an incredible career that will be remembered by many.
