Former Warriors GM Makes Controversial Nikola Jokic vs. Joel Embiid Statement
One of the hardest things you can ask NBA fans to do is pick between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. It felt like that conversation may have ended after Jokic won an NBA championship, but after Embiid's spectacular play this season, it's begun again - even Bob Myers is talking about it.
Former Warriors GM Bob Myers spoke on NBA Countdown, where he revealed that he's actually picking Joel Embiid over Nikola Jokic.
"If it was a Game 7 of the NBA Finals right now and we each got to pick a center, I'm taking Embiid first," Bob Myers said. "As crazy as it is, I love Jokic, but Embiid is the most physically dominant player in the NBA right now. He's the guy where the opponents look at each other and say, 'I don't know what to do with this guy, there's nothing I can do.'"
Myers gave Jokic his flowers too, saying that he has both physical and cerebral skills. However, he gives the edge to Embiid's sheer level of dominance this season.
"Jokic does it with physical skills and cerebral skills, but Embiid is one of the smartest players in the NBA, too," Myers said. "What he's doing, is just dominant. To the point, where you can not stop him, no one is able to stop him."
What's interesting is that this conversation was pretty similar last year, however, Jokic shut it down after he won an NBA Finals MVP.
