The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Denver Nuggets in Doc Rivers' first game, and superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked about his new coach after the game.

"It was great," Antetokounmpo said. "Everybody has to have patience. It's new. The way we play, the way we defend, it's gonna take a while to get used to. We're slowly adjusting, changed a couple stuff, coaching staff got to have patience with the players, players got to have patience with the coaching staff. But I feel like for the first game it was good. We came out of the gate, played good basketball, moved the ball, got a big lead, but then wasn't able to score the ball. Defensively we were good... Offensively he's just letting us play free. Whenever we need to slow down to call the play he's going to call a play. We're going to keep on getting better. I'm exciting for what the future holds."

On how the Bucks defended Nikola Jokic, Antetokounmpo said, "I think as a team we did a good job defensively. Put [Brook Lopez] on [Jokic] for the majority of the game. Then we made an adjustment with me being on him... You just gotta make it as tough as possible for him. That's pretty much it."

It was a tough loss for Milwaukee in Rivers' first game, but they believe they will only get better from here.
