It’s a battle of two unbeaten Western Conference teams on Sunday afternoon, as the defending champion Denver Nuggets take on the OKC Thunder. While everyone expects the Nuggets to be great this season, some are still coming around on OKC, even if the national perception of their team has changed quite a bit this summer.

The Nuggets and Thunder have released their injury reports for this game, and they are very short. For Denver, they will only be without Jay Huff and Vlatko Cancar. For OKC, they will only be without Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams.

Having gone through an organic rebuild since acquiring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the LA Clippers, OKC has yet to cash in on their large pile of draft choices, and has instead been making solid selections with those picks that have begun blossoming around Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Nuggets are a good example for the Thunder to follow, because while they made some external additions to bolster their championship pursuit, their core is primarily talent they drafted. It worked out for Denver in a big way, winning their first championship in franchise history last postseason, and they will look to repeat as champions this season.

This game should be a fun one between two of the best teams in the West through the first week of play, and it will begin at 3:30 PM EST in OKC.
