Jamal Murray Makes Denver Nuggets History
Jamal Murray is only 26 years-old, but he's already one of the greatest Denver Nuggets players ever. After last night against the Utah Jazz, that claim became only greater.
After Monday night, Jamal Murray moved past Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf to become 9th place on the Nuggets' all-time scoring list.
The top 10 list is currently as follows: Alex English, Dan Issel, Carmelo Anthony, Nikola Jokic, David Thompson, Ralph Simpson, Byron Beck, Fat Lever, Jamal Murray, and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
At only 26 years old, Jamal Murray is both an NBA Champion and one of the greatest scorers in Denver Nuggets' history. It's hard to believe he's never made a single NBA All-Star game, or even been a part of a single All-NBA team. Last season, Jamal Murray averaged 26.1 points and 7.1 assists on 47/39/92 shooting. He's more than proved that playoff Jamal Murray is something that exists beyond the NBA bubble, especially after winning an NBA Championship.
If the Denver Nuggets are a top-2 seed by the NBA All-Star break, then there's absolutely no reason for Jamal Murray to not be an All-Star. This should be the year that Jamal Murray finally gets the respect that he deserves, and he could very possibly still rise up the scoring list in the process.
Up next for the Denver Nuggets is the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
