Kyle Kuzma Makes Ridiculous Claim About 2020 Championship Lakers
Of the last four NBA Champions, the Denver Nuggets have been one of the most dominant. The team was barely challenged in the NBA playoffs and nearly cruised through the whole thing. Despite that, one former champion believes his team would have beaten them.
A fan on Twitter claimed that the 2020 Lakers were a better championship team than the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks, 2022 Golden State Warriors, and 2023 Denver Nuggets. Kuzma responded to the claim by giving him a 100 emoji in agreeance.
If the 2023 NBA Playoffs proved anything, it's that the Denver Nuggets improved tremendously since the 2020 NBA Playoffs when the Lakers defeated the Nuggets 4-1 in the bubble. Nikola Jokic has won two MVPs since then, Aaron Gordon has perfectly figured out his role, Michael Porter Jr. developed his game to be more than a shot-chucker, and Jamal Murray is playing better than ever. Not only that, but Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Bruce Brown were the best role players the team could have asked for.Â
There's a reason why the 2023 Nuggets swept the 2020 Lakers and a reason why LeBron James called the 2023 Nuggets the best team that he and Anthony Davis faced in the playoffs thus far. If anything, the 2023 Lakers are an even deeper team than their championship bubble team.Â
It's debatable to say that the 2020 Lakers could beat the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks or the 2022 Golden State Warriors. Regardless, last year's Nuggets proved they were a tier above.
