Lakers Announce Injury Update for New Player vs. Nuggets
Los Angeles Lakers fans have been eagerly awaiting to see their newest guard, Gabe Vincent, in action for the team. Unfortunately, he's been dealing with a back injury throughout preseason, but now it looks like he's back.
It's been revealed that Gabe Vincent will be cleared to play on opening night against the Denver Nuggets.
Vincent won't be in the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers, but make no mistake, he was a very important member of the Miami Heat's finals run. Last season, Gabe Vincent averaged 9.4 and 2.5 assists on 40/33/87 shooting in the regular season. In the playoffs, Vincent increased all of his numbers and became a critical member of the Heat roster. In the playoffs, Vincent averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 assists on 40/38/88 - while also being a starter for all 22 games.
The Lakers don't need Gabe Vincent to be a starter, but they need him to be a capable threat from three-point land. Whether or not Vincent starts isn't the Nuggets' problem either, Denver's problem is to guard the perimeter and make sure the Lakers don't have any easy shots.
Even though the Nuggets swept the Lakers in the playoffs, Tuesday night against LA won't be an easy game by any imagination. The Lakers will be ready and hungry while Denver celebrates its championship ring ceremony.
