NBA Admits Massive Blown Call in Nuggets vs. Pelicans Game
While the Denver Nuggets missed multiple good looks on their last possession that would have tied Friday night's game vs. the New Orleans Pelicans, the NBA admits they should have had the chance for one more. Following Aaron Gordon's missed three with 15 seconds remaining and the Nuggets down three, the officiating crew determined the ball went out of bounds off Nikola Jokic, but the league has since admitted in their Last Two Minute Report that Herb Jones actually touched the ball last.
This is a massive blown call in a one possession game, especially since Denver no longer had a challenge remaining. Jokic was visibly upset with the officials after their initial ruling, and has since been proven correct, and he was not the last to touch the ball before it went out of bounds.
While this was undeniably a big miss, and the only one detailed in the Last Two Minute Report, the defending champions still had opportunities to win this game. Inconsistent play from some of their key supporting cast members was vital in this one, and will continue to be very important until Jamal Murray returns.
This is a tough loss for the Nuggets, especially after the Last Two Minute Report, but they have shown an ability to bounce back from games like this and get back to their winning ways.
