NBA Admits Missed Calls in Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets
The Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets played an overtime thriller on Tuesday night, with Phoenix hanging on in the extra period after surrendering a 22-point lead in regulation. The NBA has released their Last Two Minute Report for this game, and it includes three missed calls in the last two minutes of regulation.
The first missed call the NBA detailed in the final two minutes of Tuesday night's game came when Nikola Jokic should have been whistled for a defensive three second violation with roughly 1:40 remaining in the fourth quarter. This would have given the Suns a free throw and possession.
The second missed call in the final two minutes came when Aaron Gordon was called for a personal foul against Kevin Durant with 1:15 remaining, a call the NBA now says was incorrect. In their explanation of this play, the NBA wrote, "Gordon (DEN) is moving alongside Durant's (PHX) path as he slides his forearm off Durant's side on the perimeter, and the contact is marginal."
The final missed call on the Last Two Minute Report was again a missed defensive three second violation against Jokic, which came with 28 seconds remaining in regulation. This again should have given Phoenix a free throw and possession.
These three calls were the only misses the NBA detailed in their Last Two Minute Report for this game.
