Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown recently signed a record-setting $303.7M contract extension. While this contract is currently the biggest in NBA history, it likely won't be for long. In a recent article, Kurt Helin of NBC Sports broke down which players are the likeliest to surpass Brown's deal in the coming years, and detailed how Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic could exceed $400M on his next deal.

"Nikola Jokic is arguably the best player walking the face of the earth right now — and the best hooper singing with his shirt off — and he just signed a contract extension worth $274 million before the start of last season," Helin wrote. "However, thanks to his player option at the end of it, by the summer of 2026 he could sign the NBA’s first $400 million contract as an extension of his current deal, specifically five years at $404 million. Jokic could get that money whether he wins another MVP or title or not because he will have 10 years of service and be eligible regardless (his style of play should age well)."

Helin added that any super-max deal that summer could exceed that $400M mark, with players like Ja Morant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Zion Williamson being amongst the players likeliest to be in that category. While Brown's deal currently looks massive - and it is, it will likely get exceeded in the near future.
