After winning his first championship and Finals MVP award, can Nikola Jokic win his third league MVP award? The NBA experts surveyed for ESPN's latest prediction panel believe so. According to ESPN's scoring system, Jokic is the heavy favorite to win next season's MVP award. While that prediction alone isn't a bold one, as Jokic is the best player in basketball, the lack of competition is where some may disagree.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was predicted by ESPN's scoring system to finish second in MVP voting behind Jokic, but he was a very distant second. Given the close nature of last year's MVP race between Jokic, Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid, it's likely that next season's race looks similar. That said, Jokic feels like a very safe bet.

Always amongst the league leaders in almost every statistical category, Jokic also rarely misses games, which makes him the perfect MVP candidate every season. This combination of dominance and availability is hard to find in today's NBA, but it's something Jokic has mastered.

Never concerned with individual accolades, Jokic is all about his team. This is why the Nuggets superstar was more than happy to trade in a third league MVP award for a championship and Finals MVP award, but certainly do not be surprised if Jokic is right back atop the league MVP race again next season.
