NBA Legend Blasts Jayson Tatum After Game vs Nuggets
The entire NBA world watched the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics face off in a potential NBA Finals matchup last night, but unfortunately for Jayson Tatum, it wasn't one of his best performances.
Against the Nuggets, Tatum put up a pedestrian 15 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds on 5/13 shooting from the field. Jaylen Brown filled a majority of the offensive load for the Celtics, putting up 41 points and 14 rebounds on 16/29 shooting.
After the game, NBA legend Charles Barkley gave a very strong jab at Tatum during an episode of Inside the NBA.
"You can't call yourself the best player in the league if they don't show up," Barkley said. "You can have off nights, but if you say 'I'm the best player in the world', you've gotta prove it."
Just two weeks ago, Jayson Tatum proclaimed himself as the best player in the NBA. On most nights, he looks absolutely dominant, too. If Thursday night showed anything though, it's that Nikola Jokic is in a different tier than everyone else. It's far more rare for Nikola Jokic to have a bad game than for almost anyone else in the NBA. On top of that, Jokic's peak performances are far better than anyone else's, especially when the brightest lights are on.
The Denver Nuggets have a 2-0 series record against the Boston Celtics this season, and the two teams won't face off again unless it's during the NBA Finals.
