On a recent episode of the Nightcap podcast, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe shared controversial Beyonce vs. Taylor Swift comments, saying Beyonce isn't moving the needle the way Taylor Swift is.

"Beyonce ain’t moving the needle like this chick," Sharpe said. "No, no, you tripping, Ocho. She’s the closest thing to moving the needle like Michael Jackson that we’ve seen. This is it."

Ahead of the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, NBA and Denver Nuggets legend Carmelo Anthony reacted to these comments on his 7PM in Brooklyn Podcast, stating the following:

"I just know the impact - I'm not in Taylor Swift's community or environment every day, but I know what Beyonce does for my people. I know what she does to these women. I know what she does to these kids. I know the impact Beyonce has in the sh-t that really matters. She's impacting schools, she's impacting the community, she's impacting churches... Black women, the amount of power and confidence and exuberance they have to put out there when it comes to supporting Beyonce, like she holds women to a higher standard. It's deeper than just musically."

Anthony continued, adding, "Taylor Swift is great. She's the sh-t. But when you talk about what we do over here, and it's not one against the other, it's what we do over here. [Beyonce's] impact is multi-layered."
